Today is my 18th birthday! So, to start off, I just wanna thank every single one of you amazing people who've supported me and my music over this last year! These past 2 years or so, despite all that has happened in the world, have been truly incredible for me: joining the fandom, becoming an electronic musician, getting better at my craft each and every day, it has all been truly wonderful, and that is due in large part to all of the amazing folks I've befriended, and all the active and passionate fans of what me and my fellow Brony musicians do! It truly means the world to me, and I could never express my gratitude adequately through words - all I can say is that I love you all, more than you know ♡ ♡ ♡

Anyhow, this song has been in production for a bit; it originally sounded a lot different and had multiple drops with lots of big synth stuff going on, but I felt it didn't really fit the mood of the track. So, after a bit of a break, I came back and decided to rework the track into more of a delicate, emotional experience with a big drop at the end! The vocals were intended to sound a bit like they were recorded on a broken microphone, or maybe salvaged from a busted tape? Something along those lines xD

The overall message of the song is that stress, bitterness, anguish, all those sorts of negative emotions, happen to all of us from time to time. I find that, as a musician, those feelings come quite frequently, and it's been difficult for me to balance creativity, fun, learning, progressing, among so many other things. Sometimes, I find myself regressing into a negative thought process that ultimately disregards passion and seeks external validation. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one finds themselves in this place, and as such, I wanted to make a song that is representative of someone coming to terms with the idea that passion, fun, creativity, and emotional expression should all be at the heart of what you do; not wealth, external validation, wanting to "win" the "competition" that people seem to believe surrounds musicianship, etc. This "coming to terms" also represents the removal of oneself from that which holds them down. The idea that "my solution is the same tomorrow" means that we are oftentimes very aware of what we need to do to remove ourselves from that which is pushing us down, and that it can be hard to accept the fact that many times, the solution we believe to be too difficult, or the one others stray against or fail to understand, is often the only real solution. Some of us just aren't meant for the spotlight, and if being known means relinquishing the passionate, raw experience we wish to deliver through our art, then we have to be willing to do our own thing, our own way, no matter how lucrative the views, money, whatever it may be, might seem.

FUN FACTS: 1 year ago today, I released My Tantibus!
The line "In the promised land of someone elses dream" is a reference to one of my favorite songs by Foster The People, Ask Yourself.

lyrics

'Been feeling like something is eating me away
I've always had nothing to give, but so much to say
I wonder how fast I'd run without all this weight
And someday, I'll be set free, but now I just
Wait for the blade

Tell me to follow my heart
But I'm starting to think that my heart doesn't know the way
They tell me I'm off to a good start
But the road up ahead is rugged and unpaved

Desire takes ahold of me
As expectation chips away at my soul
In the promised land of someone elses dream
I'm sick and tired of trying to fit the mold

You know I've felt some sorta way
About the way I've been living

All the anguish of the dreams I've borrowed
My solution is the same tomorrow
